I know I could spend a few hours finding this for myself, but I defer to the Mac Masters....

I want to switch my office from my fax machine, to fax software. I have setup something like what I want for a client. (on a PC)

I need,

1. The faxes to be e-mailed to me
2. the software to answer a special ringtone. (not the standard phone ring, I have two phone numbers on one line)

Those are my greatest desires. Anybody have any suggestions?

From the lack of responses I can surmize that Fax software is weak on a Mac. I did some digging and I found this..

4 Site Fax for $500 (http://www.4sightfax.com/5Sales.html)

FAXstf X for $79 (http://www.smithmicro.com/faxstfx/index.tpl?cart=10471364774048842)

A huge price difference.

The $79 one might fit the bill, except for the distinctive ring feature.

Why it won't work. (http://support.smithmicro.com/techsupport/stf.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=L61JaFDg&p_lva=&p_faqid=970&p_created=1019668179&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTUmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1yaW5nJnBfc2VhcmNoX3R5cGU9MyZwX3B yb2RfbHZsMT00MSZwX2NhdF9sdmwxPX5hbnl_JnBfc29ydF9ieT1kZmx0JnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=)

But I might need to get a second phone line anyway, so I might splurge for a line.

Does anybody have any experiance with this software?

You can also have a look at Cocoa eFax (http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=13028&db=mac).
