I really dont know what to make of this? When I close my black MacBook from the right side, if a little pressure is applied it will squeek all the way down. I really dont know what to make of this. Should i be concerned? Would Apple do anything for me? I heard BlackBook had this problem from the beginning but I never heard if anyone did anything about it. Should I do anything?

I dont think it is just the hinge either though. It might be something on the ride side in general. Sometimes when I lift it from the ride side, something squeeks. All the nails look tight....

Im not too troubled by this, Im just troubled that in the future the LCD would suddenly fall off on me and the genius will look at me as if it was my fault and not want to replace it. But if that is just my wild imagination, I definitely dont mind squeeking as much as the cow inside

Does the screen feel sturdily connected to the rest of the machine? If so, I wouldn't worry too much about it. :)

There have been a couple reports around here of MacBook hinges squeaking rather loudly, so it might be a good idea to keep an eye on it, in case it gets worse. If it does, have Apple replace the hinges for you. I don't know if handling the screen from one side or another is the best idea though; this puts a twisting force on the display itself and uneven tension on the hinges, which might eventually cause problems. Try to make it a habit to lift the screen from the center if you can :)

I can't figure that out. I was in the Apple store and the white Macbook hinge was quiet. The black Macbook hinge squeeked like an old door in a horror movie.
The only squeeky hinge complainst I have seen in the forums is from owners of the black one. What in the world is different between the two in relation to the display hinge?/??

The plastic used on the case. The black MB is matte finish and so must be more prone to squeaking.

It seems like the hinge isnt the only thing i have to worry about anymore. Now the system boots up to a nice mosaic of colors. Click Here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=217912) to help me out!
