Currently I use Tomato Torrent but I really need something that can control the download speed.. Does anyone know of any other torrent applications that have this feature and work on the intel macs?

Thanks!

Any torrent application should work on the intel macs under rosetta if they are not intel native.

Having said that two options: Azuerus and Transmission.

Try Transmission as mrichmon has stated...

very fast and effecient and allows you to control DL & UL speeds... it is all i use for legal torrents...

After trying both of those I guess I have a 1 more requirement.

Transmission was nice but I could not control the ports min and max =/

Azureus did not run for me. Do you have a intel mac and does it run for you? It would act like it was starting then close itself out. =(

and to make clear yes this is only legit use for seeding a video game my group is making not for any of those kiddy downloads posted on the web.

Transmission, along with any modern BitTorrent application, only uses one incoming port for all active torrents. There really is no advantage to using multiple ports. In Transmission, the port is set by Preferences->Network->Incoming TCP Port.

hmmmm.. i thought you could change this with Transmission...

unfortunately i am at work on a Dell Latitude D600 🙁

will take a looksie when i get home...

Edit: i guess i dont have to... yuvi already answered the question 🙂

Transmission is the best bet for an intel mac, its great but I wish it had more features like that of uTorrent on Windows.

Transmissions sends and receives all torrents over just 1 port, so there is no need to have a min and max port. Just specify one port and all downloads work through that.
