I just installed a 400mhz Sonnet G4 upgrade into my 8600/200. It is running Mac OS 9.1 and QuickTime 6.

I installed the Sonnet software, and fired up Final Cut Pro, but noticed that now all my videos in FCP were displaying strange artifacts. Then I opened some DV videos in QuickTime player and they too were showing artifacts, that mostly look like flickering rectangles of inverted color.

I remember back in 2004 when I had a Wallstreet PowerBook, I had the same problem when I installed a Sonnet G4 upgrade and the Sonnet upgrade software, and I figured out a solution, but now I can't remember what that solution was.

Does anybody have an idea of what I'm talking about?

It also appears to only do that when a video is playing. When I scrub forward or back, it doesn't do it. Only when playing.

Actually... I think I figured it out...

The sound in the DV movie I was playing was set to 48khz, reducing that to 44.1khz (the highest the 8600 supports) made the video play fine. But it's weird that it played fine, even at 48khz, with the old 604.
