WIERD pb12" thing.. [Archive]

I had my 12" PB plugged into a Sony E220 17" CRT. Whenever i hit the close square bracket key, both screens would flash white! The whole screen would go white for around 1 refresh and then it'd fade out. Really, really freaky, does not happen when the PB does not have a moniter plugged in. Anyone seens this, any ideas??

Go to System Preferences -> Universal Access -> Hearing and make sure "Flash the screen whenever an alert sound occurs" isn't checked.

no, it's not on. It was only when i hit that key, didn't matter what program.

I'll try again later and see.

I have the same thing happen to me, but only when using BBedit with my sound turned off. Its pretty weird. I dont have the 'flash screen' thing enabled either. bizzar

Yea i almost constantly have BBedit open, must be related to that.

I've had sound muted at the time too..

BBEdit warns you, by default, about unbalanced brackets, parentheses, and braces. It's a programming thing.

Not sure how to turn it off, though...

How kind of it.
As you can tell i'm not a fan of IDE bells and whistles ;)
