Documents shortcut in the Dock?

Short of the obvious (because I tried it and it didn't work), how would I go about putting a shortcut to my Documents folder into the Dock?

You need to drag it to somewhere on the right-hand of the little separattor bar (somewhere near the trash). Left of the line is for programs, right of the line is for files and folders. Why Apple decided to force a distinction like that is a mystery.
