Converting Fonts?

Wasn't sure where to post this...

I ordered my new iMac yesterday and I am unsure how/if it is even possible to take the font collection on my Windows PC and get them working on my new iMac? I'm guessing photoshop brushes are the same kind of file on both Macs and PC's?

yes you can you have to use a bit of software called fontographer, that will allow you to regenerate the font for a different format (mac to PC, or PC to Mac) but if they are TTF's or Open type on the PC they will work on your iMac anyway

Most of them are TTF's...how would I go about getting them form my PC to my Mac? I'm new to macs...can I compress them in a zip folder and send them to my mac? I'm a noob :(
