Hello-

I have a week old white macbook that i'm wanting to trade for a powerbook. My macbook is in excellent condition.

EDIT: I'm also willing to trade to for a macbook pro. I can include a white 2gb nano that is in mint condition. It comes w/ all accessories including the box and also an agent 18 case. I also have a universal ipod dock w/ all accessories and the box. Also have a mint condition Sony PSP. Comes with all accessories including original box and also a logitech hardcase.

Macbook
2.0 Core Duo
512 Ram
60 Gig HD
Superdrive
Bluetooth/Airport Extreme

I still have the box and everything that comes with it.

I would like to get a 15 or 17 inch powerbook. Let me know what you have. I have done some trades here on macrumors in the past and I also have perfect feedback on ebay under rhelfrey. I'm located in Arizona if you are interested.

I doesn't have to be the lastest revision. It just has to have a superdrive. Please someone take me up on this quick

thanks

I also have a Rev. D PowerBook that I would be interested in trading if you don't get any Rev. E. offers. Specs in sig. Still has ~2 years left on Applecare and is in near-perfect condition with all original packaging and everything.

Uh oh, looks like we might need to compete. :D

<defensive>
Mine may not have any AppleCare, but it's got 1.5GB of RAM!
</defensive>

;)

Same specs otherwise, all original packaging, cables, docs, disks, etc. Hardware in pristine condition.

Mine has 2 GB, double HA!

But still, too bad this one isn't black, I would be all over that like silver on a powerbook.

1GB stick of RAM from a guy @ macnn.com: $80
Sale of one 512MB stick of RAM someplace: +$35

Applecare already purchased vs. unavailable: Priceless

;) :p

I'm just screwing with ya. OP doesn't want a Rev. D PowerBook, so it probably doesn't matter. And if he does decide to go with one, at least now he has some choice. This was just already a trade I was interested in from my FT thread, so I thought I would give myself another shot. I won't fight you for it terribly much if it comes down to it.

Well.. um.. mine was formally owned by Steve Jobs himself and it's actually the only PowerBook G5 in existence!

Austin: Really?
Dr. Evil: No, not really. I can't back that up.

:p

I'm just screwing with ya.
Same here, I really don't even expect to generate interest from the OP.

I think it is funny that we all have the same exact computer, and the OP is looking for a Rev E.

i've got a final rev 15" sent you a PM.

i'll consider this, but to be honest i too would've preferred black.

and that means ill have to buy 2GB ram, and a bigger HD and im already broke right now to begin with. lol!

i'll think it over though (i too rely on one very important non-universal app.. you guessed it. photoshop. ), specs are in my sig btw.

I think it is funny that we all have the same exact computer, and the OP is looking for a Rev E.

there is no such thing as a rev. E 15" AlBook.
The 17" had 5 revisions:
1 Ghz
1.33
1.5
1.67
1.67 hi-res

the 15" had 4 revisions:
1/1.25 Ghz
1.33/1.5
1.5/1.67
1.67 hi-res

So the OP is looking for a rev. D 15" powerbook or rev. E 17" powerbook.

I think in each case he wants the 1.67 hi-res probably..

For the most part, the 15"er is considered to have never had a 'rev A'. It is usually referred to by the generation of the 12/17 that accompanied it. (At least, everyone I've talked to does it that way...)

getbigg21

yeah i thought that i would get more interest. i guess it's because i need a superdrive and some of the 15 inch powerbooks don't have them. i would even do the 17 inch if the specs were right. i would like the hi-res screen but it doesn't have to be.

alright one last shot. i have some great offers from some of ya's here on MR and I was just checking to see if there was anyone else wanting this great macbook. Just checking my options before I make my final decision. I would also consider trading this macbook for an ibook/powerbook and a mac mini. One of the 2 must have a superdrive though.

Just to state the differences, the only benefit of a Macbook over a Powerbook is the processor. Yes, that is a big deal, I understand. This is even a little tempting for me but, I would lose 100GB of HD, 1gb of RAM, a much better graphics card (9700 w/128mb), 2in of screen real estate, and the much beloved FW800. It interests me but like many, the PB still is a pretty darn good computer in its own right and it gets the job done. Even if a PB doesn't have all the high specs, you can upgrade practically the whole thing. HD, RAM, I'm gonna install a SuperDrive in very soon, and I'm even tempted to upgrade the processor as it'll still be cheaper than getting a new computer. Someone here has even upgraded the screen so... I'm still up in the air about the processor but you get my point.

On a side note, I'm still debating selling mine and getting a Macbook with 2gb RAM and at least a 100GB HD. I love the Macbook and I can't blame anyone for wanting to trade. There's just a lot of reasons why many are not.
