I am selling an ibook that took a bad fall and sustained damage. The screen's black light does not work, so the screen is not usable. However, it works perfectly on an external display. I have a fresh installed copy of Tiger on it and will send an extra 128mb of RAM(added to original 256(Total 384mb(additional 128mb not installed) from my 1ghz ibook g4. I will also bundle iwork '05.

I am not sure what it is worth. Just give me an offer. Feel free to let me know what you think it is worth.

Payment via PayPal, will only ship to those in USA or Canada.

Pictures of the damage:

Did your run the AHT on this to make sure it didn't suffer any internal damage?

AHT is what? I will do it right away if you could tell me. Apple Hardware Test?

It's the Apple Hardware Test Disc that came with your computer. It's silver. (: Put it in, reboot holding C and do an extended test, or two, or ten. (:

Where in NY are you?

Westchester County. Far from where you live.

Am I better off selling this for parts. Or fixing it then selling it.

I made a mistake. It is only an extra 128mb of extra RAM. Sorry.

You mean did you run a bus over it. Does anyone know how to make this into a clean "headless"?

I just searched google for you and it appears you just disassemble it and take the screen and its case off and reassemble.

How much are you looking to get for it? I may be very interested if the price is right as I have experience repairing iBooks with this sort of damage.

I bought a broken G3 iBook for $50, I'll offer you $60 and you don't have to ship far ;). I live near Buffalo.

I'm not blind, I can see that. I'm offering what I think it's worth based on it's condition.

I think i'd be willing to pay $100 or so for it. I think I'd just need the internals. I know some one offered $175, but if they no longer want it, I'm interested.

Good luck,

$175 sounds pretty reasonable to me. I mean G4 minis go on ebay for $400. This might be battered but everything works. Its even got a working screen. It still works so its not even faulty, its just damaged.

Looking on ebay.com and searching for "ibook g4 repair" gives several 'books, most of which are going for over $200.

You really should post the machine's complete specs. Does it have a superdrive or combo drive? What speed and size is the hard drive? Bluetooth and/or Airport Extreme built in? Everything I mentioned here was available as a BTO option on that model.

Agreed.

I am interested in the size of the HD.
