Can i get more than 2 Gb of ram on my intel imac g5 idd be very grateful of help 🙂 🙂
 
Your iMac is either a G5 (PowerPC) or and Intel. They are different processors, so you have one or the other. All iMacs only have 2 RAM slots. In order to get more than 2 GB's into it you need to use 2 GB RAM sticks. They can be expensive for the G5, and I have not seen any for Intel. Two GB should be enough, though. Why do you want more?
 
Plus, I'm pretty sure the memory controller on these machines only runs to 2GB which means only 2GB would be recognised, even if you had 4GB-worth of chips installed. 😱
 
The rev. C iMac G5 - there is no such thing as an "Intel iMac G5" - was able to take 2.5GB with 512MB built-in and a 2GB SO-DIMM in the RAM slot.

This configuration cost a fortune though, 2GB SO-DIMMs are very bloody expensive.

So which do you have?

An iMac G5 or an iMac Core Duo?
