today i found myself thinkin about school, and about having a laptop around.
would the eMac in my sig be a comprable trade for a equally spec'd G4 iBook?

I'd say you could get a high spec'd g3 and maybe a very low spec g4 ibook. The problem with emacs is that they've devalued so much with 1) Intel processors and 2) having a crt monitor. Good luck though

yah the crt is a big drawback.
but i think i like the eMac to much to get rid of it.
people are selling 1 GHz models for 700$,
and for what i got mine for i would probably just keep it and buy a 600 MHz g3 or somthing.
but if a nice g4 i book came along id trade

Who ever buys a 1Ghz eMac for 700 bucks is not to bright... as you can get a 1.33Ghz iBook for 799
