I just bought a super cool dual layer DVD writer with lightscribe but.. IT DON'T WORK

First of all, why do they sell dual layer burners with lightscribe, but not dual layer lighscribe media?

Anyway, so I tried to burn a dual layer DVD through Toast 6.1.1, and the first time, the program just froze at the end, and the second time, it froze and then said there was a problem with the mac OS.

It's an HP DVD 840 and i'm running a MBP with OS 10.4.7 and a gig of ram.

Anyone know what might help?

Toast Will Recognise it, i've made CD's with it and burned lightscrive stuff with it, it just wont do dual layer 😕

what media are you trying to burn onto ?

it's a crazy world

also what speed are you trying to burn at i'd try at a slow speed, see if that helps
 
So in other words you're having issues with Toast and not necessarily the burner itself ? Does 6.1.1 even support DL ? Have you tried burning in finder?

I don't know what the problem is with 😕

Can you burn a DVD from a Video_TS folder from the finder?
