I think Homer said it best.

Marge, anyone could miss Canada. All tucked away down there.

Did you have to steal a teacher's teaching plan to get this?

When I used to live in the U.S, I think I was made to study and learn that very Map!!

When I was in middle school I learned all the countries and capitals for Europe, Africa, Middle East, Latin and South America. When quizzed I didn't miss a single one (though that could have been because I was the only one in the class that had Russia in my text book instead of USSR), though I'm definitely rusty. I think we would have done the entire world but we ran out of time.

*edit* why is it that when I read the captions on the map I have a Jon Stewart impersonating Bush voice in my head!

Me too. Every country, every world capital, every major lake and river, all the US States and Capitals. All the Canadian Provinces and Territories and their capitals, all the SSR's and their capitals.

Yeah, me too. I once knew almost every country in the world and could label them all on a map. I can still do a pretty good job, but obviously not as good as before. If I had to do Africa right now, it'd be a proper mess. I'd get around 15-20 and just skip the other 35-40 or so countries.

I didn't learn all the US states, though. I just learnt the 13 or so on the east coast after the country was formed.

I had a chance to spend a few months in the US, all the news was about things inside the US and i saw very little or none of events happing outside the US. It must be said that the US is a huge country, you can do everything there so why should they have knowlage of other counties.
