i think you can. i have a store nearbye (fry's electronics is the store) and i like them. i've heard others say good things about that brand of RAM
 
That memory is not guaranteed to work in Macbooks, so you may get it and find out it causes problems and/or kernel panics. If you've dealt with memory problems before, you know its not worth the price difference to take chances. But do what you want. You can find guaranteed memory at owc.com and datamem.com.

There is no such thing as "Mac guaranteed ram".

Newflash: Macs are now PCs too. You buy a stick, it is a dud stick, tough. Just send it back in for exchange under warranty.

No, but there are places like OWC and DMS that assemble their own branded RAM and specifically test it in Macs to ensure compatibility.

But your point about Macs being PCs is well-taken...as Apple moves to more PC-like components from Intel and the like, the renowned "pickiness" of Macs for certain other components like RAM should decrease.

Agreed, "Mac guaranteed ram" really is a concept from the old PPC days....

Even then...I used the cheapest name brand RAM I could find for my iBook and never had a problem..

I bought guaranteed RAM for my MBP, because the difference in price was only a couple of dollars, so I figured I might as well.
