I just picked up a 31 week white 2ghz macbook- and it is completely free of defects. No moo, whine, or physicial problems. It runs my windows apps better then the decked out inspiron e1505 I ended up returning.

Give it a couple of weeks before you judge.

woohoo!
not to be pessimistic too but i had mine for nearly 2 months and it just started the random turn offs yesterday.

apple guy said its 'sorted' out, but as history (of 2 whole days) has proved that the computer has some serious problems with 11:08 am we shall see tomorrow.

Thats not a defect that they fix.
The other noted problems, "moo, whine, or physicial problems" are the only problems that can be corrected.
Conclusion: All 2ghz macbook will run at the same temp.

Wait about a month and see if it'll just start turning off on you...

randomly...

The random part really bugs me because there's no guarantee that the "Geniuses" will find a problem.

"blah blah blah blah blah"

very good man, i have a 1.83 and it is fantastic. some people just don't know how to live.

did you get some extra ram for it?

the keyboard feels great to type on, no? ohh man and the glossy screen is so nice. built in camera and the magsafe are very attractive! oh yes let me not forget to mention the "2 mile radius wireless reception" freakin' fantastic!!

2 mile radius of wireless reception?
Are you high?

My MBP (that uses the same chipset) gets worse reception than Intel Pro Wireless in Dell 700m's. Not to mention tha (strangely) reception is worse in Mac OS X than in Windows.

MBP are metal while the MB are plastic. The metal interferes with the reception. While I admit "2-miles" is a bit of an exaggeration - the wireless range is quite wicked.

I have 2gbs of transcend jetram in it, its great. The wifi is pretty wicked too, longest range I've ever seen. And I will be getting the hitachi 5k160 when it comes back in stock. 160Gbs- :p

Yeah, I pick up networks that I'd never seen before with my old PB.
