Ok, heres the deal, I've been trying to sell my powerbook for about 2 months now. At first I put it on craigslists with no real interest so I turned to ebay...bad idea. I got two deadbeat buyers. By that time over a month had gone by and the prices dropped significantly, so I went back to craigslist (current times). I have one offer for $900, which I think is too low. Here are the specs
15" 1.5ghz
1gb ram
5400rpm 80gb HDD
combo drive
ATi Radeon 9700
The thing is in mint condition and the battery lasts at least 2.5hrs with full wifi use. I also have the original box and cds/manuals. Is anyone willing to spend around $1175 or so shipped for it? Its really a great machine.

I wish you the best of luck, but I was offering the same machine + 2 years of Applecare for that price (and at a few moments even less), and no one seemed interested. I sincerely hope you find someone, though.

:p Oh man that scared me. My name is Zach and by the title of your thread, I thought you meant my PB (actually my brother's but he has left it here for over a year and never mentions it anymore ;) )... Lol :p

It's a shame how little they're going for, but I've seen a few on craigslist for $800!!! I had to hold myself back or my money was going to be all over it.

I bought the same exact computer for 900 about 1 1/2 months ago.Better sell it before they drop even more....yes they are nice but everyone now wants a Macbook/Macbook Pro.

I got $1400 for my similar PB (15", 1.5 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, 80 GB HD, SuperDrive) a few months ago... the trick, it seems, is finding someone who actually NEEDS a G4 or G5 machine because the software they want to use doesn't work in Intel Macs. (In my case, they needed to run ProTools.)
Seems to me like your asking price is quite reasonable.

900 is a little low, but still a good deal. I would sell it, if I got no other deals...

900 isn't so bad at all. I've been looking around craigslist a lot lately and there are similar Macs like yours for 600-700. I'd sell yours immediately for 900.
The sooner, the better.
It really is a nice machine although I can tell it's not one of the latest PowerBook revisions- Combo drive.
Good luck to you.

I can sympathize with your wanting to minimize your depreciation on your investment, but honestly, when the Macbooks came out, it sent Powerbook prices into the toilet. (Ironically, for some reason, iBook prices were not affected nearly as much).
I think if you have someone willing to pay $900 (without any EBAY fees or Paypal fees deducted), you should take it.
I just bought a 15" 1.33Ghz with 18 months Applecare, superdrive, and 2 gigs of RAM for $750 (and didn't feel like I had gotten any sort of smokin' deal), so $900 for yours seems pretty good.

Ahhh, what a buyer's market for the Powerbook G4's... still excellent machines, but everyone is crazy over the Macbooks now ;P I would jump all over that PB of yours if I could but I'm a little low on cash right now.

How much vram does it have? And, do you still have the PB?

I would fight for at least $1000, but it's worth more than even that. $900 is far too low.

It has 64mb of vram, but the thing is a beast. It doesnt get slowed down because of it.
Yes, I still have it...if I cant get anything over a grand for it my dad might want it because his iBook recently flaked out on him.
