Uh.. YES.

Even if it's classical music, I'll pick a part and sing along.

so fun. :):)

No. I don't sing. Ever. Not alone. Not for others. Actually, when I worked at the theatre I was one of two guys who were instructed to lipsync during song numbers in one of the plays I was in... the others couldn't sing in tune because of us... :D

I do play a mean steering wheel drum, though... ;)

Yes, I do. I've been told I'm quite good :)

Yes sometimes, nobody in the car but the wife and she does it too sometimes. Although I have done it when the car was full, very hard to stop.

I can't sing to save my life, but I do it anyway in my car. I don't know how to drum either, but... :D

Of course!

Back around March I was really sick -- started in my throat, went down into my lungs, etc. Anyway, had made a CD with Rufus Wainwright's cover of "Across the Universe" on it and could easily sing along -- until I got sick. Couldn't talk for a while, trouble breathing, etc. -- I was knocked back a good three weeks, but gauged my health on my commute every morning by trying to sing along.

In retrospect, that's pretty pitiful. But at 6:45, on my way to Providence, trying to sing that song was my entire world!

Rarely, but if I'm in a really good mood, I'll do Phantom of the Opera.

I chill out when im in my car... bob my head, sing a little... it's all good.

I think I piss a lot of people off because I've found that when I listen to chill music, I'm less likely to speed. So I'll put on the chill music and go the speed limit... just mellow out. Going the speed limit is too slow for some people, so they'll speed around me... but I really don't care because I'm chill, and life is good.

Alone with the nano, in my car, is the only place where I can be my own vocal coach and sing like a Grammy winner to any and all songs you could think of. From Stevie Wonder to Bruddah Iz (Hawaiian), I sang it... and I sang it gooooood. =] heh.

no shame. =x

Here's a list of artists' that I love to sing along with:

Audiosalve
Blood Sweat and Tears
Cake
Death Cab For Cutie
Flaw
Foo Fighters
Eric Clapton
Sting
Theory of a Deadman
Trapt
Weezer

Of course I sing along with everything, but these guys have a good pitch range that I can comfortably keep up with in alot of their songs. Any particular artists that you enjoy singing along to?

I tried singing along with liza minelli (Cabaret) but FAILED MISERABLY.
It didn't stop me, though. :)

Showtunes.
Usually if a broadway actor can do it, I can do it badly. :)

another fav: 2 ladies.. also from cabaret.
and Shoeless Joe from Hannibal, Mo. (damn yankees)

if it's a musical, I'll sing with.

I sing when I'm alone in the car. Though I usually have the music louder than I'm singing so at least I sound good :). My favorite to sing along to is Kevin Spacey doing Bob Darin's Beyond the Sea.

I sing along to anything I know the melody to. So in regards to the last option, I also sing along when there are no words. And time to admit a sin too: sometimes at the orchestra concerts at school, I sing along, but quietly to myself, so no one can hear me and want to punch me (because I know I would if I heard someone in the audience singing :o)

I can carry a tune well, but the tone of my voice is bad. It's definitely better with the windows up.

I make CDs and iPod playlists of music specifically to sing (so for instance if there is a really strenuous song, I'll put a couple songs with no singing afterwards to recover). I like to sing to foreign songs, where I don't know what the song is always about, but it's just the emotion that gets me and also musicals (Les Mis and Phantom are probably my favourites) and also to the Moulin Rouge soundtrack :o I'll also whistle along to classical music. If there is a flute I'll do that part, otherwise I'll do violin.

If there's a CD playing and I know the words then I have no option but to sing along. It's either that or I talk very fast and nonstop for the entire time I 'm driving or I drive very fast.
Driving triggers manic episodes for me so I have to channel the energy somewhere.
I have an mp3 cd with over 6 hours of music that I know every word to.
I've just bought an iPod adapter for the headunit so I'll soon have 1,000s of songs to sing along to!!!

I sing, play the drums and piano (steering wheel), and occasionally play a bit of an air guitar solo (also on the steering wheel). Great fun, and so long as you don't look at any other driver's, then they can't see you, so I never get embarrassed! :D

That's rock and roll!!

Not like I used to, but it's fun to fantasize. The other day I was playing some disc golf with the iPod on and caught myself singing out loud. I was alone, and I don't think anyone heard me. :o

Same here. Me and my one of my best friends at school were banned from singing in the car by our other friends because we were so dreadful. We used to go for drives together and sing really loudly because we could. :p

These days, I'll sing along by myself, but only if the music's loud enough to drown me out, or I spoil the music for myself. :p

I'm a fairy decent singer but very shy, so the car is the only place I can go nuts and not feel like someone can hear me. It's positively liberating!

In the morning I love singing to the Beatles. - So refreshing! :)

Yes, I do, until I get all paranoid and think about how'd I feel if there were a wiretap in my car. That's when I blush and pipe down.

When I do sing, it's usually under my breath or under the tone of the song.

This (http://www.napsnet.com/auto/68180.html) survey shows that most do it, but that red headed females have the most fun with it. My wife would fit that though her genre of choice would differ.

I guess I'm part of that group as well :D

I think I take it too far sometimes by banging on the steering wheel in rhythm to the music.

I certainly do. As you may have noticed by my avatar, I'm a huge Neil Young fan. My brothers tell me that I hit every note perfectly when I'm singing along to a Neil Young song. Now Neil isn't known for being a (classically) good singer, so I voted that I'm OK.

Like others, I don't care if people see me, I don't know who they are, and I'll almost certainly never see/talk to them again. Besides, I see other people singing in their cars all the time. What's to be embarrased about?

Better than that. I sing along to the songs in my head when I'm on the motorbike. I even get down to the beat when I stop for junctions, tapping out drum patterns on the fuel tank and stuff. All the motorists around me probably think I've got headphones on :p

Ugh, I've seen people in Houston who ACTUALLY do that!

it's super-dangerous and I'm pretty sure wholly illegal.

I'm not sure it can be counted as singing, but I certainly wail along. Loudly.

Odd thing is, the older I'm getting, the more lyrics I seem to be forgetting. Singing out of tune, loudly with the WRONG lyrics is great fun, if only to watch my son slide down in the passenger seat to avoid being spotted by anyone he knows...
