I have a Mac Pro on the way, so I am looking to find a good home for the iMac G5 it is replacing. It will come with the original box, manuals and install disc. and instead of the bluetooth mouse it came with, I will include the BT Mighty-Mouse that is coming with the MacPro instead. This was also the last user-servicable model with the planes which could be replaced individually, and the diagnostic LEDs. One screw gives you access the entire interals of the machine.

Detailed specs on the machine are here: http://www.lowendmac.com/imacs/g5-2005.html

The only change I have made to the machine since I purchased it was to add a 1GB RAM stick, the rest is the stock May 2005 iMac hardware.

However, I am not looking to ship this until the Mac Pro arrives in early September (I ordered a graphics card upgrade), so I am looking for a buyer, but I am not looking for the buyer to pay for the machine until I have the replacement in hand.

Right now, I am really hoping to get 950$/obo on it.

Edit: This item has now sold.

I was going to sweeten the pot 5 minutes before you posted, and I figured, what the hell... I still will. ;)

I will throw in my copy of VPC 7, and drop the asking price down to 900$/obo. I realized that VPC won't do me a lick of good now that I am moving entirely to x86, and for the original 950$, I will throw in a copy of Office 2004 Standard too. Both of these are full copies, with the original DVD case, media, and license keys.

Once I receive my Mac Pro, I will wipe the drive and install the OS from the restore discs that came with the iMac. So I can accomodate doing things like: making sure the OS is the latest available, pre-installing bundled software if you desire, or partitioning by request.

EDIT: Arg, I still forgot a bit of info I should be adding here:

Shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer, but I will do my best to provide whatever shipping method the buyer prefers. The shipping is from Seattle, WA 98178, and I will get dimensions and approximate weight so a buyer can estimate the shipping costs for the method of their choosing. I will confirm the estimate from the buyer (just make sure the estimated numbers agree), and then that will be the cost of shipping. However, I will not let a buyer select a shipping method that has no insurance or tracking, that tiny, cheap layer of safety is solid gold.

As for payment, I would prefer check via registered mail, or USPS Money Order. PayPal is possible, but considering the issues PayPal has preventing and persuing fraud, I am not entirely comfortable using it for an item in this price range. PayPal does have more immediate buyer protection, yes, although by paying via registered mail, or using a postal money order, any fraud by either side immediately becomes mail fraud, something that authorities take more seriously than PayPal fraud.
