Ummm, i have this slightly upgraded Dual 450 PowerMac just sitting here, i want to pay off some extra on the loan i got to buy my PowerBook.

It has -

Dual 450 G4 Processors
Gigabit Ethernet
DVD Optical drive.
512 RAM (Little known fact:- Upgradable to 2GB with OS 10.3+)
80 GB Western Digital 7200 HD
Standard Video Card
FireWire PCI card adding an extra 3 external and 1 internal, along with 2 of the FW standard ports
ZIP drive

Ummm, oh and i polished the case and handles with Brasso and it looks almost like new. I've cleaned the insides including the fan.

Doesn't come with original disks as i lost them a long time ago, this was a donation from an uncle.

Perfect working order, would be a great server or an introduction to Mac?

Give me something to work with here, i'm unsure of the value.

Rich.

well known fact: OS X has always supported 2GB, as have the sawtooth & GE mobos. OS 9 could only see 1.5gb! :)

as for the value, ~ $150-200 USD, IMO.......if the keyboard, mouse & an OS are included :)

I might be able to offer £50-80.

What's the capacity of the power unit? (amps/wattage on the 12v and 5v rails)

I dont need the zip, RAM, or the Firewire card.

Can pick up from London.

I won't be accepting his offer, make me one?

I would consider shipping to the US for the right price, and if you paid shipping.

I'll definately be able to post some pics, but not until Sunday. I don't have a Digital Camera and my girlfriend is camping for a few days.

Thanks for your interest!

Rich.

If you can get £300 for your G4, take it!

If your RAM is 2x256MB I'll up my offer to £100 inc the RAM.

I notice you're not offering an optical drive - PC ones are cheap, but getting a mac compatible one is a bit more expense and hassle.

Before accepting offers from the USA, work out how much it'll cost you to actually exchange the money once banker's fees are taken off. It's a fair bit.

Oh cheers for the tip! I had no idea.

I'm not expecting 300! I just feel it's worth more than 50-80.

It has a DVD reader as the optical drive.

RAM is 4 x 128.

To allow for shipping, bank fees, currency conversion changes etc, I think DPMPX would have to offer about $300 to beat my offer of £100.

That's just a guess, it's up to you two to work out the exact costs involved.

I was going to offer around $200 USD. But I do see how it would be easier for the guy already in the UK and theres another thread here for a guy selling his (sawtooth?) in claifornia which is way closer to me. You can let him have it, thans anyway.

it makes no financial sense to buy a mac from the uk and take it over to the US, it'll end up costing roughly $2 for every £1 of mac due to the exchange rate and shipping, i don't mean to threadcrap it's just once buyers figure out how much it would cost they'll baulk and go to ebay or whatever.

if i were not going to MWP i'd jump on this and offer £120 and pick it up myself, alas i'm short on cash.

They're just not worth that any more mate, seriously. It's a buyer's market for PM G4s. Top end Dual Processor 733MHz are going for £250 so there's no way you'll get that for your DP 450 machine.

I'd say absolute top whack will be £150 but that would be very good.
