View Full Version : What's The Song? - WooHoo Track

This is really embarrassing but I've got a song stuck in my head and I want to know what it is. I have no idea who it's by or what's called but I believe it to have been very popular. Anyway, this is what I do know:
* It's a sort of pop/hip-hop track
* It was played at the end of one of the Apple keynote addresses, maybe 2-years ago as Steve was walking off-stage
* It has some nice vocals that includes a "WooHoo" frequently and ends with a "LaLaLaLaLaLa..La" with some low voices afterwards
Sorry, I can hear it clearly in my head and now I want it in iTunes as well. If anyone can identify the track based on my poor description then that'd be much appreciated.

'Woo Hoo' by the 5678's maybe? It's on the Kill Bill Vol.1 Soundtrack.
Didn't see the keynote, but the song definitely contains some 'woo hoos' :D

"Song 2" by Blur has WooHoo's in it. This was a popular song in the late 90s. Might be what you're looking for, might not.

Another possibility is "Diamonds and Guns" by The Transplants. I think they play it on some haircare product commercial. But I thought about the "woo-hoos".

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the suggestions but it's none of the above. I'll try to find the keynote broadcast that it was on since I think that's going to be the best way to find a sample of the track. It's relatively recent (I'm pretty sure it was a new track back when it was used by Steve) so Song 2 is way too old, plus the track I'm looking for is more pop/hip-hop than Blur's rock.
I had been thinking that it might be another Black Eyed Peas track but it's not.
Regards,
Kelmon
EDIT: Hmm, the QuickTime site only seems to be hosting very recent broadcasts from Apple so that knackers that idea. Anyway, think along the lines of the Black Eyed Peas and you might get closer to the track.

The one that comes to mind is Black Horse and the Cherry Tree by KT Tunstall. Check it out---lots of woo hoos in there!

The album that the song is on 'Eye to the Telescope' came out Feb 7, 2006. So it fits the criteria of being recent.

'Eye to the Telescope' came out in Jan 2005, at least in her native UK ;)

Why does it take so long for somethings to make it across the pond?!
*edit* just now noticed her UK album cover in your avatar :).

Time to get a record deal over there? Wait and see how popular she might be?
Looking at iTMS US, you don't have her most recent album yet either.
KT Tunstall's Acoustic Extravaganza came out in April/May IIRC and is also pretty good.
Sorry, this really doesn't help on the Woohoo's ;)

I might have to find it as an import then or just wait until it makes it over here (2007?).
To keep it on topic Matt Costa's 'Behind the Moon' off Songs We Sing also has woo hoos though it doesn't have the lalalala... at the end.

Busta Rhyme's "WooHa" has no Woohoos but many Woohas, and no lalalalas but many Y'ally'ally'alls. I 'spose I have trouble imagining it at a keynote, though ...
Link. (http://music.aol.com/artist/busta-rhymes/61282/video) (Give Busta 30 or 45 seconds to intro his song ...)

My embarrassment continues. The song has been identified as being "The Black Eyed Peas" track "Let's Get Retarded". This is annoying because it was an artist that I'd thought of but discounted. Worse, I already had this track...
Sorry for wasting your time but thanks to everyone who tried to help.

At a keynote?
Probably was "Let's Get it Started (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=28659665&s=143441&i=28659667)"?

I don't remember a Woo hoo in there?
I bought that song in a hotel in Green Bay after being bombarded with it throughout a MNF game ;)

I was thinking along the lines of Lucy Pearl's "La La La" but it might of been too old.
Now that it hit my mind...there was the whoo hoo over and over at the end of that song.
Bless

Most likely. It's the same song, though.
