Hi.

i'm having real problems trying to set up mail. do i need to have a mac account to do it? and do i need to pay for this? i want to be able to sync mail with my work mail account and my hotmail account, is this possible? if someone could give me an idiot proof, step by step guide i would be very grateful.

thanks

Mail is intended for POP3 or IMAP accounts. It can also access .mac and certain Exchange accounts. Such accounts are provided by your ISP, be it your commercial ISP at home, or the IT department at school or home. You may type in the settings yourself or use the ISP-provided setup utility.

Hotmail is web-based, but can be accessed via selected standalone email clients. On the Mac, you need Microsoft's Entourage 2004.

There is also a plugin for hotmail access using Mail.app : link. I've not used it, but people report that it works fine.
