OK all. I would like to record some spoken word into iTunes. Yes, I am that vain.:D I've got one of the new powermacs, so I don't have a built in mic. What do I need (in terms of hardware and software.) Doesn't have to be the best, studio quality stuff - but I'd like fairly audible results.

Thanks much!

well if you need sound in, buy a Griffin iMic, it is a USB device that has audio in and audio out. I have it and it works great, I use it on my iBook. :D go to www.griffintechnology.com, works in OS 9 and OS X, hope I helped!

Right... I'm familair with the iMic and suspected it might be the answer. Will I need some recording software, or is that somewhere in OS X?

Look on the Downloads section of the OSX Homepage, and check out their Audio section. There are like 5 programs that do this.
