Insert the cd's that came with the laptop.
Go through the menu's until you hit the reinstall button.
That's kinda' cool your mom would give you a 2,000 dollar laptop though.

You mean it shows both partitions? If so, then you need to select the entire drive and reformat it to remove the second partition. This isn't the only way to remove a Boot Camp partition, but it's the easiest in your circumstances IMO. :)

Wait, what is your goal here, a full install? What you should do is load up boot camp and you should see an option to get rid of the windows partition, correct me if I'm wrong. Then you will see the HD is now a single drive, then reintsall the whole bungsquata.
EDIT- What I mean is go into OS/X and go to Applications -> Utilitys -> Boot Camp, then you should see an option to rid ur windows partition.

You don't really have to do that if you want to reinstall everything. Just insert the OS X DVD and when it gets to the installer go to the tools menu or something and select Disk Utility. That will let you repartition the drive however you want. After you quite Disk Utility you can continue the install like normal, on a clean hard drive.

Why do you want to get rid of the windows partition? Have you absolutly no use for windows on your MBP? Play games?? Use Visual Studio?
Just curious, though.... why is she giving you her MBP??
