I haven't been able to get on to the BBC News site since last night (West Coast Canada Time). What's going on over there?

works for me

news wise - Eleven people appear in court in connection with an alleged bomb plot to blow up several transatlantic airliners.

That's odd, because I was just on the BBC site, and clicked on MR, and I saw your thread. It's fine for me...

Could it be a DNS setting on your computer blocking it?

Listening to BBC Radio over the Internet right now, so no problems here.

Are you in Lincoln UK?

I first noticed when my BBC RRS feeds stopped working.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news doesn't work at all for me. Very odd.

Works fine here, looks like they've had a bit of a redesign though.

Just saw this too & it made me chuckle. I think it's great that no-one at all complained.

Is anyone else hugely irritated by the "Video and Audio News" chunk in the middle that keeps unhiding itself? I wouldn't mind if it stayed hidden. :(

It's working fine which is a pity as I just watched the Little Miss Jocelyn program that's linked on the front page.I now want dig my own eyes out,if anyone is tempted to watch it I swear it's the vilest thing I've seen EVER.

Without sounding ignorant, do many of you guys overseas read the BBC? I'm never off it myself but I'm in the UK.

Yep - very annoying. The whole page is becoming cluttered, which is a shame as the simplicity of it before was one of the things I really liked.

They're asking for opinions on the new look on their editors' blog. So far most of the opinions are 'meh'

Are you sure Canada haven't blocked the BBC?

I just sent them a comment about it. :) I also suggested that if they were going down the customisable route like that they could take it a step further and make it customisable by the viewer like the Google homepage thing, and therefore we could remove video and audio if we didn't want it and replace it with something we would find more useful. :)

Good to see the BBC pissing away the license fee on crap design.

I'm a Brit, so I personally use the BBC UK & World News all the time, as well as Canada's own CBC.. I believe a lot of Canadians look to both BBC and CBC as well, judging by views posted in, they generally like to check out a number of news sources for the same story.

EDIT: Appears to be working at the office, so could be a problem with our local ISP. :(

Awesome, especially if you're into outdoor stuff, hiking/mtb trails, horse riding, atv, the lake oh and Coffee shops.

Tricky to find 'decent' work... as it's only a small town of around ~10K people. My wife's parents live here and we have friends here... which helped a lot with the big move from the UK.

I was living in Leighton Buzzard (nr. Milton Keynes) for years and commuting to Hammersmith most days... totally different world I live in now mind. :)
