yea,the keynote is pretty much what I am going for.

Absolutely open to the public... but not free, unless you have a media or VIP pass. I believe the full conference pass (floor, keynote and sessions) was around $150 last year.

$150 isn't bad. I was thinking more. Maybe because WWDC is like $1500 but that is a ton more than just a keynote.

Do they give all attendees ($150) some sort of event bag?

Nope. Just a badge and a catalog. You can buy bags and such on the show floor. BTW, floor passes can often be had for free, if you know where to look.

Checking again (I've never had to pay myself), it was $300 last year for conference package which included the keynote. Floor passes were $35, but could be found many places for free. Hope that's not too disappointing.
