Well today i almost brought some iclear for my ibook, i heard about using toothpaste but to be honest, i thought they were taking the p**s, but it worked with fabulous results, it's almost as white as when i purchased it, well i thought i'd let you all know, weather your interested or not
It's meant to say worked, before i get mocked

Does your iBook smell minty fresh as well? :) Now maybe you can lick your iBook for fresh breath!

That's another thing toothpaste comes in handy for. I've used it to clean old cds with wondrous results. Now you can clean your iBook? I'll have to remember that. My friend has a dirty one. ;)

Makes scence. Toothpaste has small beads in it, so whiten you brush it removes the dirt from your teeth, so there's no reason why it can't do the same on an iBook cover.

Works really well on the back of the ipod. I haven't used it on the front of mine (tho the front of mine aint dirty, I never take it naked anywhere.) But I had a screensaver and left the back naked, and it's really scratched, used toothpaste, and miracle doesn't come to mind, but WOW sure does.

Baking soda and a little little bit of watter on a clean cloth works wonders on so many things. My macbooks is still as white as the day I bought it so I didn't have to worry about cleaning it, but I would use baking soda if I did have to clean it.

Could I use toothpaste on my Powerbook 12"?
And what parts of the computer did you use it on? Surely not on the screen and the trackpad?

I don't see no reason why you can't, but i used it on the base of mine which was very dirty and could not be removed with baby wipes, where as the top is very clean (i clean it about 3 times a week), DO NOT USE ON THE SCREEN, toothpaste is an abrasive and will damage your screen, also i wouldn't recommend using it on the trackpad:D

Would this help with discoloured palm rests on macbooks?
Or is it just for the the top of the lid and the bottom? (IE - the case)

If it's discolored, take it to Apple. They'll fix it. I remember vaguely that basically NOTHING worked on those stains, and people tried everything.
