That's not the Bluetooth logo… you can see 'Bluetooth' right next to HDMI. That looks like a recyling logo to me, though that's kind of odd…

Super Audio CDs, or SACDs as they're more popularly known as, have been out since 1999. Sony was one of the companies involved in creating it, so yes, that would mean it is more Sony crap.

some people really like Super-Audio and DVD-Audio, my uncle is a total audio nut and the ability to play them on his PS3 when he gets one will make him very happy. Its not crap to all people daniel

That's all good and fine for your uncle, but for the rest of us SA-CDs are about as useful as ATRAC3 songs.

And man, don't take things so seriously!!! I may not like Sony but I wasn't bashing them. More formats don't hurt anyone. It was just... from the sound of the name... it reminded me of that whole Sony CD copy protection scandal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_Sony_CD_copy_protection_controversy), which you can't say wasn't lame. I can see that it's not related though.

Actually that's not true. More formats confuse the general public. They don't want all this HD-DVD and BluRay junk. they want 1 format. it does mean better prices, but it also means if one family buy into one format and then support for it stops, then they're going to have to buy the alternative format.

SACD is fine, so long as it isn't increasing the cost. I don't want to pay more for things I won't be using.

Yep! Sony marketed it in completely the wrong way. They've done the same with every other format they've released, BlueRay, Minidisc (they marketed it as the replacement to CD, when it was really more of a replacement for cassettes).

Sony should also look into other people's formats, rather than decideding they should do everything their own way...

I don't like Sony anyway. They market their top line as hi-end 'hifi' systems, when they just SO aren't. It's misleading information.

Also they copy other people's designs. Look at the PS3 compared to the BL4000 (B&O design):

We've been through 6 Sony SurroundSound systems, all of which have been absolutely pants.

We've been through 2 Sony TVs in the past 14 years, which is appaling IMO!

Indeed....but like the other dude said...it won't hurt to throw it in there to look like you are getting a little bit more..no harm no foul. SCAD was a failure though...oh well back to the drawing board.


Also to add...Sony has some of the best TVs/home systems around

Agreed, every Sony TVs and home systems we've ever owned have been fantastic.
