How does .Mac sync?

Will .Mac sync my email accounts from gmail, hotmail, pop3, etc. over multiple pcs? It seems pretty clear that it will sync a .mac email account but what about others?

I forward all my accounts to .Mac. That way, all the messages are synced using IMAP mail @ .Mac. It works really well.

I still use my personal domain to send mail.

Thanks for your help. So when you sync using IMAP mail, do you just have that one email account setup in your Apple Mail?

How do you get all your mail sent to .Mac but send from a different domain in Apple's Mail.app?
