if it actually provided a solution for providing others with internet service, i'd be interested. this is just what I'm doing right now (all with one piece of software, MAMP, which has a nice cocoa GUI) with a mail server included. the one cool thing that this piece introduced me to was the RoundCube webmail platform, which seems rather mac-ish to me.
