I have a Western Digital 80 GB external hard drive that I was using between my computer at school and my home computer...it worked fine until I left the hard drive connected while someone else logged on to that computer and the drive mounted itself and it was going good until he didn't know what to do and needed the extra USB port so he just disconnected it - which I didn't think would cause any problems because the drive wasn't in use. Now, however I can't get it to mount at school or home. The computer at school is G4 running Jaguarand my computer at home is an iMac Intel Core Duo with Panther 10.4.4....The disk shows up in my disk utility but I have no option to mount it.
Anyone have any suggestions? It is pretty crucial I recover the information because I go to school for graphic design where our program just ended and we had to clean off our machines so all the data is on that external drive and the hard drive at school has been wiped so there is no way that I can re-copy the information.
