Green light next to iSight tells me when it's on, so what about the other light?

It might just be there for symmetrical purposes, but I'm wondering what the 'light' to the left of the iSight in my Macbook is for. Does anyone know?

I know how you feel. I tried to scrape mine off. 😱 😱

Then I looked at the box like I should have in the first place..... Isn't it neat how a small hole like that can allow for such a clear sound? (those of you who have used iChat)
