Ok, this gets a bit weird! I can't wait till merom/RevB macbooks! I need help, I am feeling so deprived without a mac, I know merom isn't such a big improvement and that if you need technology buy it, but the thing is that I don't want to get a macbook only to have a new model come out in a few weeks/days time! HELP!

Go outside and run around for an hour or so, then you'll be too tired to care.
No, seriously....exercise, don't sit around....it will make it worse.

Apple is still listing 5-7 business days shipping for the MacBooks here in the U.S.
So IF you order direct from Apple, you might possibly end up with a surprise
when your shipment arrives.
Obviously no guarantee, but worst case you still have a great machine.

Stop using MR completely. Stay away from it. It really makes the waiting period harder. Look how we all have been so excited and then disappointed coz of apple store going down and then getting no announcements et all. And since you need a Mac desperately, you`ll feel far worse than those of us who dont really need a Merom MBP right now but will buy it if they like it when it comes out. Just stay away from MR. ONly check the Apple store once or twice a day to see if there is an update.
Also consider what miles01110 suggested. It`ll help.
There is no point in getting a yonah MBP now. You have no option but to wait. All you can do is make your waiting period less painful by not visiting rumor sites every now n then.

Running is 50% mental, I'll do the other half later!
The thing is I don't need a macbook at all, I don't have a computer but I'm using my stepdad's (He's generous:D), I just want merom 64bit, maybe even proper graphics?
Hows visiting 4 rumour sites and crazyapplerumors.com 3 times a day for enough?
EDIT: Oh and, They actually have macbooks available for purchase in South Africa, We are so behind that we even get a lack of stock late!

Why is everyone so excited about 64-bit? What applications do you have that actually take full use of 64-bit? It's just marketing

eh, i would have waited if i could, but classes started and it's hard to get by without a lappy. i went ahead and bought a MB, because i figured if i upgraded the RAM and HD, it'd be all the computer i could need for now and time to come. there will always be something new around the corner, but that certainly doesn't mean that the current line will suddenly become dinosaurs or incapable of handling what we throw at 'em.
that said, of course if you CAN wait, do! if you know a new release is imminent, then it would be dumb to buy now if you don't need it.

As long as you have a good working OSX powered notebook, you're in better shape that a whole lotta people.
I think you'll feel much better this spring when you're looking at Santa Rosa/Leopard models.
Some of us simply had to buy something now with school starting.

Yes and enjoy yours when something newer comes out  Are you actually asking an opinion? Just buy or if you want to wait (Which seems to be the gist of your message) then wait. I'm not really understanding the point here
