Never had that happen before, but yeah I'm waiting for new Ipods to come out so the price will hopefuly come down on the older models.
Although video Ipod is good enough reason to get behind in paying off student loans

i sold my 5Gb, and I was waiting, but I just broke down and bought a refurbished 10GB, best decision ever. I could care less about features and it does what it is supposed to do, thats all i care about.

My 5gb iPod is almost perfect as is. It's completely changed how and when I listen to music. Worth every penny.

depends on the price of the new low end model. If there was a 10 gig iPod for under $500 Australian then I would buy one.

I was kinda in the market for one till my amp went to hell and i had to replace it for $200, and no new iPods came out... i'm still waiting for them; i don't care about getting a bigger one than they have now, but my library has gone over 10 GB, so i would like to get the 20 now, and it needs to be a LOT more affordable, as i would never blow $500 on a music player. so that's what i am waiting for, a price reduction that will come with new models.

The one feature that I've wanted to see ever since the iPod first came out (but I've rarely, if ever, seen anyone else mention) is to have a build-in tuner. I wouldn't ever expect to use it to listen to music (I'd generally rather listen to my own than the radio), but no matter how well equipped my iTunes audio supply is, it never contains news...
(I want to be able to listen to NPR while on the go! And I don't want to have to carry multiple items....)

Very happy with my 5Gb iPod. I plug it to the office phone system and the music can be heard on every phone and when people are on hold. Use it when I travel and when I go to the gym.
Sometimes, i find 5Gb a bit small but I can live with it.
The only feature that would make me change/upgrade is if they came out with a bluetooth headset or some type of wireless headset. No more wires!!

These answers (Yes, still waiting ; Bought one ; ...) are very funny if you accidentally mix them up with the poll of a couple of days ago (Are you married?)
:D

I'm still waiting so the current ones will be cheaper. I want a 10 gig. for 400 euro's. I think that's a reasenable price. Untill then I have a discman/mp3 player from Samsung wich totally sucks. Batteries are going really fast. It shocks when I'm standing still. I allways liked Samsung products but no I'll never buy another thing from them. Sorry for complaining but it needed off my chest.

Ok then, so who's going to be the first to commit to 1st of April for a release?

I already predicted that a month ago and posted it in 2 seperate threads.
And no, I'm not waiting for new iPod's to come out. I purchased my 10Gb in December, and I'm very happy. Back then, I thought for sure new ones would be released at MWSF, but I convinced myself to go ahead and get the 10Gb. It's the best decision I've ever made. If you want an iPod, just buy one!

If only it was that simple - cash doesn't flow well for a student.

I voted "no". Though I'd buy one if the price was a little lower.

Yes, if new ones came out then that would most likely lower the prices of the "old" ones, in which case I could afford buying one, I could probably afford to buy one know but I dont really "need" an mp3 player so I cant justify it just yet.

I'm also a student. I'm just one who is very well funded by parents.

An interesting poll, as I just happened to have time last week to visit an old friend of mine, and longtime Apple Evangelist & Mac/Newton shareware developer "Saint John".
On the iPod, I've been kind of thinking about getting one, but I'm too old to be into the Pop music scene, and I've been too busy to bother with the entire MP3/iPod scene, so as we chatted over a cup of coffee in his new house, John was gracious enough to bring me up to date with the technology. Yeah, as a portable player, its a pretty neat little device.
But then I asked him what this text line of "The last Apple I will ever own" in his iPod display meant.
John sighed. He explained the very bad customer service he had received from Apple on his iPod while it was still under warranty.
He then mentioned his "Steve's reniging of the "free forever" .mac email address promise for OS 9 purchasers prompted Saint John ... after 25+ years as a member of the Apple faithful ... to concude that he can no longer support the company.
He also had unkind comments about the laggard performance of his DP 1GHz Quicksilver w/22" LCD that was in his office upstairs. He's currently using it as an iTunes player and he's gone back to using his 9600 with OS 8.6 He says that when it dies, he's going to "SWITCH"... to a x86 Linux box.
Egads.
Now I've known John for over 20 years, and I highly respect his opinion, so I know that this is a significant change. So not only do I have no plans on throwing Apple an MP3 player purchase, but I'm also going to have to seriously reconsider my plan to pick up new Mac Powerbook too. Afterall, why should I reward a company who has screwed a friend who I know was a good customer?

I've been waiting for an iPod update since January. I'm just hoping they reduce the price and maybe add some small features, like 'Indiglo' type backlight, microphone jack, or possibly an AM/FM tuner as long as it doesnt make the iPod any bigger. Its gonna be great when I get it. I'm trying to be patient.

At the beginning of January, I wanted an iPod, but now I think that I won't buy one for a while. I would like to have one, but they would have to come down in price an awful lot for me to buy one.

I have the money. I will buy one when they are updated. Apple doesn't get the sweet jing until they release a new one.

I would love to see a feature where you can upload games
from your computer to your iPod. Pong gets boring ;).
