i live right on the beach and it can be HARSH! salt air and humidity will rust anything, even the zipper in my shorts,, shut! i keep all other gear, cameras and lens in pelican cases. now i see there is a pelican case designed for the ipod. i am wanting to get one but am concerned about heat build up if played while closed. {it has an external headphone jack} or are ipods sealed fairly well against these type emements? i am also considering their model that is storage only, no phone jack. does anyone have any thoughts on this?
