Backup Software Question

Is our backup tape drives are "Archive Python", what exactly does that mean?

Will regular tape drive backup sofware work? I'm quite confused.

I'm currently looking for a new sotware solution. *pulls out hair* 😉

I don't know about tape drives. It's this automated at work?
If it's just for at home plug an external drive in. Bootup with your install CD and in Disk Utility use the Restore function to copy your HD to the external.

We are currently using Veritas backup software.
I found out that Archive Python is the name of the drivers, which by searching google, seem to be pretty old. The links for seagate dont' even exist anymore.

If the drivers are working, wouldn't any backup software work?
I got the impression from him that it wouldn't but I'm thinking otherwise.😎

No. Of course not! 😀 lol

The software we're using is messing up. It won't let us set the option to format the tape automatically and write over it. That's the biggest problem.

We just need a good backup software "solution". 😉
