iPod how to get the glue from the stickers off a new ipod video

Hello,
I just brought an ipod video and it's all good apart from there was a small sticker on the side written in french which when peeled off left loads of glue along the side, kind of annoying cause it's all sticky and looks bad, anyone know the best thing to clean it with?

goo gone is a good residue remover but i have never used it on an iPod or tech product, so i'm not sure of the effects it could have on the finish. If someone could back that up that would be great :)
