Oh, I should add that I'll also welcome any IDE controller cards you might wanna throw in, and would pay more for that.

I'll keep it in mind, though I'm sure shipping will be killer. Hoping for something local, but you never know. Thanks for the heads up, either way.

Hey everyone, I'm looking to get a low-end Powermac G4 or decent G3 that I shove a bunch of drives into and use as a file server. I would prefer something with Gigabit ethernet, if possible. I doubt I'll need the bandwidth, but it wouldn't hurt.
Now, I'm looking to spend around $100, so local would be best (Chicago area). You can strip it of RAM and hard drives if need be. I have my own I'm gonna put in there, as well as my own video card (AGP, if you have a PCI Mac I'll need a vid card).
So... let me know what you've got! I'll be hitting up local stuff like Craigslist as well...
I Also have a B&W G3 350 mhz, with a 12 gb hd w/ OSX 10.1. Let me know.

Well, since I've gotten a few interested offers, how much are people wanting, shipped to zip 60657 for their G3/G4 towers? I'd prefer a G4 if possible, btw. I don't need RAM, as I have a bunch, and I don't need any hard drives. I DO need a PCI video card if your machine doesn't have AGP, and I would like a PCI IDE controller card if you have one. A DVD drive for installing Tiger would be a plus, too, but if it's a machine with Firewire, I can always use my external drive, so a CD drive would be fine.
With all that out there, please PM me what you're looking to get for your machines! I also have a 3.5" Firewire enclosure in another thread I'd be glad to trade towards a tower.
Thanks!
