Have you ever made a mistake in the real world, i.e. not on the Computer, and thought in your head Ctrl+Z? I've done this a few times. I just did it while drawing in my sketch book. I made a line that I didn't want and unconciously said Ctrl+Z in my head. I was like "uhh, okay.." :D I think it might be because I also work with Photoshop a lot.

Oh yea, I didn't even think about that. I only use PC's at school, but I still think Ctrl+Z when I use my mac.

I've wished I could use Cmd-Opt-Esc a few times in the real world and force-quit some crappy situations.

Yup. One time after playing a game with quicksave (F12) and quickload (F9) for a long time I even thought "F9" in my head after I did something stupid.

Thanks God, it's not just me.
I was sketching in my sketch pad the other day, made a few strokes I didn't like, and before I realized it, was thinking Cmd+z......
Scary stuff.

One time, a really bad driver cut me off while I was on the road, and I wished he was the personified version of Windows XP and crashed. Repeatedly.
Then he'd catch a whole bunch of weird viruses.

Amen to that.
I'd also like to cut and paste some stuff, while we're at it ...

If I had an option to Cmd + Z, I would not have moved on from day 1. I would be like a Bill M. character in Ground Hog Day; the only difference would be mine would be more than 2 hours and could be 2 decades:eek:

I am guessing "help" in the Mac platform. If it is Windows, you would be summoning annoying devils of Paper Clipper or Cartoon Dogs.....

ha - yeah - but thankfully Clippy et al. have a "bugger off and don't bother me again" button. Another useful one for reality! :)

Cmd-Z has popped into my head with alarming regularity - be it when writing, drawing, using a calculator...
I suppose I'm one of those people who makes a lot of mistakes. :o

You people are cracking me up. I am at work and needed that chuckle. I myself have never done that, but being a cosmetologist. I would look at someone's hair and would ache to get my shears on it. Also in a previous job, i would do inspections on containers coming into the terminal. I would sometimes see one on the highway and start inspecting it at I go along. lmao!!!
you would have to have been there. I still do that sometimes.

I dont. Not at all. Coz I dont use CMD Z on my mac either. I rarely use any text writing, drawing etc. So never had the need.
But I must say I m obsessed spotlight. It`s happened to me more than a few times now. Whenever I m looking for something my mind simply directs my eyes to the top right and starts spelling the name of the thing I was searching for. K-E-Y-S. :o :o
Goddamnit. I wish there was a spotlight in real life too.

The only one I have is the command+s to save my exam answers, last month writing finals I had a slight panic attack because I could not find the apple menu > file > save... Thanks to my laptop I haven't taken paper notes in three years so written exams mess me up a little especially when I look for the spell check and thesaurus...

I wondered what you meant until I read post #2. I thought "Why would I want to suspend something when I'd made a mistake?"
Damn UNIX is infecting my life :)

Ah, other way round for me. When I get used to an interface i take it and run with it, so typing some things for my old science teacher the other day in school, i kept hitting the alt key instead of ctrl because its where the cmd key would have been :o
More and more i'm thinking in keyboard shortcuts. I wish books had tabbed browsing without those pesky little tag things or folding pages.

No, I don't find myself trying to press Cmd-Z, but after playing too much Warcraft with voice chat, I often find myself reaching for the Option (talk) key when I want to talk to people :o

The last time I used control-Z, I was writing a text file in DOS and needed to end it since control-Z is end of file.
I rarely think about using edit keys to fix things but I remember painting during a class and I had to mix some paints to get a certain tint and I was thinking that I needed about 215 red, and some green and some blue. It's a shame working in 24-bit colour in the real world. :D

I think more in terms of wishing I had save points before I did things that I knew were stupid. Granted, it is better to have broken bones/groundings/liver damage, than regrets, but still, a save system for life would be great...
