*Confirmation of new iPod*

Hi everyone,

Now the last thing that I want to do is repeat the obvious, or to say what has been said before. As far as i know (I haven't been around the forums much over the last couple of months), people have been guessing that a new iPod would be released sometime within the next month, however:

I can confirm that a new ipod will be released within the next "couple of months". Whether this is tomorrow, or sometime within the next "couple of months", i haven't been told, although the suggestion seemed to be that it would come sooner rather than later. Neither have i been told whether the line will be split with a 1G video and 6G music ipod or just whether the 6G ipod will be a true video machine. The above infomation is from a director of one of the largest UK retailers.

I realise that this seems like pretty obvious infomation, but its nice to know for sure, that a new one will be here soon.

so if you want a new gen ipod, you won't have to wait too long.

Ya there is a new report now. There will be new laptops from Apple, if not tomorrow then maybe in a few months. Also Apple will release more new stuff in the coming months too. I have that on the highest authority.

A large store chain in norway got a message from apple telling them to get rid of the 5Gs and nanos they have in stock

My local Apple Centre is having a sale on all iPods and I haven't seen a shuffle in stores in over a week.

when Overstock.com has them for $50 off and your bank starts offering a free nano to open a new account, good chance something new is coming.

the person i spoke to is the MD of this retail company, they know a lot more than the rumours we have to go on.

I thought that the above fact would interest you guys, it sure interested me, and if we remember all the rumours, mock up videos and photoshops of new ipods we saw in march/april, when everyone was sure they were going to be released then. News that they are definitely just round the corner seemed like good news to me.

I can also guarantee that new laptops will be released one day! it might not be tomorrow, or it might be in a few months, but new laptops are definitely going to be released!

I was wrong last year when I said no new ipods were coming out, and then the 5G hit.

So I'm saying pretty much the same thing this year, but with the recent news and a blurry pic, I may be eating crow again this year.
