Pic when I first got it, I have a new desk and a laptop cooler now but its a mess and I'm not gonna take a new pic!!!

A combination of both. Plus, it tilts the laptop forward (ergonomical benefit) and looks pretty stylish. But this is coming from a guy who never saw one of them without the laptop on it, so better ask someone else.
