A good camcorder?

I was just wondering if this looked like a good camcorder:

Looks nice, and shoots in 1080i. Is it worth the money?

If you can still get an HDR-HC1 or HVR-A1 I would get one of these. I love my HDR-HC1. I haven't looked to much at the HDR-HC3.

Personally, I'm waiting to see Sony's and Panasonic's AVCHD camcorders, looking for HD in that price range... Only problem with Sony's is seems they won't have FireWire jacks.

I noticed the reviewers mentioned no external mic jack on the model you're looking at. Don't know if that matters to you. (Would to me.)

I don't know if any NLEs accommodate the AVCHD (MPEG4) codec yet. I wouldn't think so yet (the camcorders aren't even out yet), but seems they would have to at some point.
