Its kinda funny how the band are trying to be Queen or something now. Anyone see their performance on the VMAs? Their singer was all trying to be Freddy Mercury.

Hell, even the song they played...the first two minutes or so of it sound like a bad Queen song.

Yeaaah...definitely skipping this album.

Wasn't that the performance where M.C.R. and A.F.I. covered "Under Pressure," a song David Bowie and Queen liked to do together?

Ugh. I really don't think "emo" exists. It's something made up by people who need something to bash and by teenagers whose favorite music is whatever is on Fuse that week. If it was a genre, it would be in the iTunes Store or on Amazon. I'm so sick of hearing that the bands I listen to are "emo." Dumping 15 different genres of music into one classification called "emo" is both ignorant and stupid.

Daniel.

Ah, thanks for the clear up. I'm listening to "Under Pressure" by Bowie and Queen now. :)

Oh boy. the "emo" argument. I love this discussion.

"emo" wasn't really a genre until Sunny Day Real Estate released "Diary" in 1994 (which is an incredibly awesome album. I recommend it). After that there was a surge of interest in emo up towards the late 90s when pop punk really started picking up and it kinda got put on the backburner. Then again, that's really the short version. Check out the wikipedia article on emo and you'll find a lot of information.

Emo is becoming the new Alternative though...its like the mid 90s again where everything was lumped into that.
