You don't get tax deductions for political contributions, but I ask the same question:
So?

Hmm, something about that tells me that he might not be a Republican.

Yeah, it's well known that he supports the Democrats. Al Gore is also on the board of directors at Apple.

You'll not be pleased then to know that Steve and Bill (Clinton that is) are actually quite chummy and Steve loaned his house out to Chelsea whilst she was studying at Stanford.

Wow, although I may be conservative, sometimes I do wish we had Clinton back in office. Back then, the usa was not headed to 1984 or v for vendetta

From Wikipedia
"Jobs is not a vegetarian or vegan as is often claimed. Although he does not eat mammalian meat, he reportedly eats fish from time to time. This is known as pescetarianism."

Another so what? I mean, I am conservative too, but I don't buy apple products because of who Steve is, though Apple products are FAR better in my opinion when Steve is in charge, I buy them because I like them better and for my uses they work better. Though, don't misunderstand me, from what I know, I like Steve. But I mean, who really cares who he donates too? Its his money. I love this country, we can all support whoever we want to...:D

I always thought the average IQ among Mac users was pretty high, but after hearing that, I think I just heard the average slam to the floor.

Bill Gates is also a big time democrat. hes donated more money to people(starving kids) than Jobs has even made in his life. Almost every computer person you meet is a democrat. Almost every person in hollywood is a democrat. Almost every teacher in high schools and colleges are democrats(80%). I have zero problems with anyone except the people who think Bush blew up the towers and the levies( in New Orleans) and think we faked the moon landing.

Yup, whoever donates the most money is a democrat..I guess those poor people are hard-core Republicans. Do you honestly think this or what? Donating money to starving kids doesn't mean you one party or another. I know of few partys that don't hate to help starving kids

this is terribly cynical, but I wonder how much of Bill's donations are PR-related. He sure did give away a lot of money during the MS anti-trust thing...

The story goes that Bill was planning to hold onto his money until his death, at which point the vast majority would have gone to charity. But his father and wife talked some sense into him and convinced him that there were so many people out there who needed help now that he decided to start giving it away.

No need to guess about these things when the facts are available:

Gates gives to both Republicans and Democrats.

Billy G's father is a social liberal although his firm, Preston, Gates and Ellis has been involved in some pretty shady republican shenanigans. The Marianna Islands/Abramoff deal comes to mind. He's also pushed for keeping the inheritance tax and firmly believes the rich should do more to promote social justice. It's Bill's wife that was the driving force behind the Gates Foundation and the Foundation has truly changed the world for better.
