As I mentioned in an earlier thread, I recently picked up a Powerbook 1400. 64 mb Ram, 133mhz proc, 1 gig HD. I finally got OS 8 up and running on the machine and was looking for programs to put on it. I got a few things from the System 7 today website, but couldn't find a whole lot.

Anyone know a good resource for cool, free little programs? Games, office prod, whatever. I know from searchiing that Oregron Trail used to be available as Abandonware, but that site has since gone dead.

Sorry if this question has been asked before--I searched, but couldn't really find anything.

VersionTracker (http://www.versiontracker.com/macos/) is always a nice place to start... :)

I have a 1400 too! I don't know if any one has mentioned this, but I very strongly recommend that you upgrade to Mac OS 8.6. It's more stable than 8.1, and 8.5, plus you get to use Carbon applications.

Or you can *upgrade* down to 7.6.1 as many people have done based on the web site in my signature. Check it out, you may be surprised what you'll find.

It depends on what kind of freeware you want...
