Asustek Computer has offered Elitegroup Computer Systems $28 million for a manufacturing plant, primarily used in the production of Apple iBooks, reports EBN. "Asustek, one of Taiwan's biggest ODMs makers of laptops and motherboards, announced its plan to buy the facility and its equipment in Chungli, Taiwan. More than half of the factory's capacity has been allocated for Apple, Cupertino, Calif. Though Asustek declined to comment on the purpose of the planned purchase, some analysts and industry observers said that the company is hoping to land orders from Apple."

Wouldn't it be better if Apple bought that facility?

So Apple makes its own computer parts? That's never been done before... interesting idea.. but I would rather they concentrate on other areas for now.
