Photoshop Not Wanting To Use The Emboss Filter and Others

When I try to emboss a shape or text or whatever, it turns it gray. That's it.

That's not right... Why is that?

What color mode is your file in? Many filters won't work if your document is in CMYK. Go up to your menu bar -> image -> mode. If it's in CMYK change it to RGB and you should be set.

That's what I thought. But it was in RGB. I do get some message about some files for OS X are missing... and I don't have the install disc...

Could you post what the error message is? Off the top of my head I can't think of anything else but color mode.

I forgot exactly what emboss did.
It's working... 😉
