Another chapter in the "me me me" generation...
I'm in Jacksonville waiting for a flight, and there are three guys (mid 20s) sitting two seats down from me by the boarding gate... looking at PORN.
WTF?
So this is acceptable?
When did manners and pride in one's public behavior get thrown out the window?

This does not represent all Americans. I can't believe someone would so something so private in a public place. That's just disgusting.

I know, I know... you at least have the courtesy to wait and lock yourself in the bathroom onboard the plane and moan real loud. As I recall anyway. ;)
Hey, it could have been worse. It could have been a woman breastfeeding her baby.

Remember not to rock back and forth in your seat when you're saying your prayers. You don't want to make the passengers all nervous and be deplaned in the process. :p
Boom! Into the PR Forum, we go. :D

I would have said magazine was marginally more acceptable than on a computer with the sound on though. :p Don't they sell porn magazines at airports and the like? I've always thought that's odd.

If there were no kids around I don't mind if people look at porn as long as they keep their sound down/off.

Either way, I think you might have missed the point-- elsewhere in the world, people are more accepting of the human form (bodies, period) than American mainstream culture. It's not as a big of a deal to see nudity, but that does NOT mean it isn't a big deal to see sexual acts in public!

It's not as a big of a deal to see nudity, but that does NOT mean it isn't a big deal to see sexual acts in public! Speaking of which, we left the Pismo pier yesterday because we got sick of watching the blond one bench over give her boyfriend a handjob in public.
I mean, it was one thing when they started suckin' face like horny teens, but after her hand went up his shorts -- we were out of there.

Sorry, I'm loosing my mind. :o Yes, I meant "accepted."
Ya, either way it isn't/shouldn't be something acceptable in public, but from what I've heard, porn isn't as "taboo" elsewhere as in the UK/America.

If it was just a Playboy, who cares? There's probably more sexually suggestive ads spread around the airport than there are in PB. If it was hard core stuff, well, as long as they were being discrete about it, I don't see a problem.
Last October in Budapest I was with a couple of Kiwis out for a night on the town. Just as we turned a corner, there were two guys ahead of us holding hands. Charlotte, who was about 24, was horrified and said, "You'd never see that in NZ!" The evening was capped by watching a couple with their pants down, going at it on a park bench just up from the Opera House. She had a problem with that too. So, Americans aren't the only prudes out there.

David Cross (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Cross) has a bit about this, read the [On Airport Pornography] (http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/David_Cross) quote on that page
There was also a scene in Lost in Translation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_in_Translation_%28film%29) where a guy is reading porn on the subway.
So yes, it's wrong to be looking at porn in public, but hey at least have a laugh about it.

No, no. You don't read porn. You look at porn. You read the articles when your significant other finds your stash of playboys :D

It got better.
It was not that they were looking at it - and no, I wouldn't mind if they did it if they were being a bit discreet. But they had four guys gathered around a mag with smut pictures on the front pointing and making a comotion in the waiting area.
They sat on the right side of the plane across from me and the stewardess had to ask on kid four times to fasten his belt, and then they were riducling the poor girl for doing her job. "Sir her de herr you have to fasten your belt her de herr."
Then, half-way through the flight they were looking at porn again, and the flight attendant said they had to put it away. After she was gone, they were making fun of here for saying something. "Oh, it's those kids with the porn."
Then she had to ask the kid three times to fasten his belt for landing and they were looking at porn again. I had finally had it. I said "You know, no one, and I mean no one on this plane thinks you guys are cool for acting like complete jackasses. Now do what she asked, put the smut away, fasten your belts and shutup."
They started making fun of me, and then four guys in business suits around them said if they didn't shut up, they would take it outside at the airport.
They decided to behave for the rest of the flight. And it was Hustler - labias and all.
And Compx - no not all Americans are like that, but there is this feeling among kids to late-20s people that they are entitled to do whatever they want, and if they get called on it, people are assholes for saying something - and I'm tired of people ruining my day by being rude.

Glad you decided to say something, and that realising that everyone else on the plane thought they were idiots shut em up. :)
And I think that Hustler should use that as their tagline. :p

Either you are all totally prude and have never seen a naked person or had sex, or you are uncomfortable with your own body. Get over your inhibitions. And yourself.
Chicks breast feed, I'm ok with in public. The greatest works of art in the world depict naked people and they are beautiful. The human body is one of the most beautiful forms on Earth. In all shapes and sizes.

No, you get over yourself. If you even knew anything about me, you might have some basis for your assinine straw man comments.
Looking at a magazine, in public, with children present, of women spreading their vaginas open and sticking their fingers in their asses is not the human form, and it ain't a "great work of art." It's trashy.
So you think you're going to tell me what's right and wrong eh?
"Nobody can tell me what to do."
Where do you get this ludicrous sense of entitlement from?
Oh, BTW, why don't you put a naked woman with her finger up her ass on your Web site?
It's art, right?

In your opinionated mind it may be, but obviously I have a different view. And so did the people on the plane.
The diffence is I'm not trying to regulate my opinions into others' lives.
Making people like you @**es.
I'm not either, I'm asking people to have a tiny bit of class.
Like I said, what's stopping you from putting a naked woman with her finger up her ass on your business site?
I mean you don't give a **** what other people think, right?

Of course I would.
As much as I talk about porn and lube™ here, that's pretty much where it ends. ;)
I can do whatever I want. If there is "consequences" it's because of some insecure ************ thinking they have any right at all to open their mouth in my direction.
Wow. Again - where did you learn this ridiculous sense of entitlement from?

So you think you're going to tell me what's right and wrong eh?
well when you go out into public there are certain behaviors that are accepted and others that are unacceptable. This isn't a matter of "what's right and wrong" it's just common sense.
And common sense says pornography isn't something you enjoy in public spaces such as planes and such. Just like you can't drink a beer or smoke drugs on a bus. I mean what's next, should people be allowed to masturbate or take a **** wherever they please?

Once again, you can't seem to look past your own nose.
And where should I put that picture. Hmmm, I don't seem to see a catagorey for naked. The content isn't useful information on MY site.
Just as I'm sure homie on the plane was looking at the smut for entertainment, not information.
Moron.
Well, since you've decided to resort to second-grade name calling, which, by the way, is against forum rules, and also extremely childish (no surprise here), there's no real reason to continue with you on this subject.

Gary, your narrative was both entertaining and interesting, like moving from Scene 1 to Scene 2. I would have enjoyed a different ending, though. Scene 3: the four suits walk off the plane and leave the four kids in heat buck nekked in the terminal with their computers running. Hey, now we're all just having fun. Who's accosting whom? Feel the beauty of public nakedness. Sense-surround sound. You like public demonstration of nudity? Knock yourself out. ;)

I'm not affraid to be naked in public. Actually, I'm not affraid of anything since it really doesn't make sense to be.
That's 26. Twenty-six.
You have your own issues, I have mine.
Edit: didn't answer my questions either.
wow 26, your demeanor suggest 16. Yes it's good to have a "I'm gonna be my own person and make my own choices" attitude in life, but unless you live on an island surrounded by people who share your exact views than your going to have to accept that some things are not acceptable in a society especially in public spaces.
So hey, if you want to enjoy pornography and masturbation on the bus with a complete disregard for those around you that's your choice. Let me know if telling the cop "**** you I'll do what I want" gets you anywhere.
