Where can my coworker get a good price on a pcee?

I have a co-worker who is looking to get a Pc and a 17" flat planel monitor. He wants the PC to have cdrw and windoze XP. He definitely wants a 17"fllat panel monitor. He said he is willing to pay around 700, where is the best place he can go to get a bundle. (He would rather not do the whole mail in rebate thing.)
Oh, one more thing. This is not like the, "My friend has a drug problem....":D This computer is for him, I am apple all the way!!:cool:

eBay has great prices when it comes to PC's. But Macs sell for
WAAAAAAAY more than they are worth. :)

And also, the best price possible would be custom building one
yourself (or getting your friend to). It isn't hard, and it is much
cheaper. Dell has been known to have cheap computers too.

ha that is what I said, and why I ended up getting my PC for
a GREAT price on eBay. $700 for 2.4 GHz 512 MHz Sys bus,
512 MB 333 MHz DDR, 40 GB HD. A lil over 700 after shipping.
I love my PC. I still like macs better, but if you want to know why
I got a PC that is a diff story, and it is in the switch forum. :)

It sounds great, but he wants to spend around 700 with a monitor. He is not a power user at all. He does not even know what ram is. :D

Well, fp 17"s are around $300 nowadays, so that's only a little over budget, and I'll cover half the shipping.
