I'm running COD2 on an iMac with a 2 GHz 5G chip. So I downloaded the patch. Ran the installer. COD2 still reads version 1.0 and multiplayer didn't work great.
I removed COD2 from the hard drive. Removed the patch. Removed preferences for COD2. Emptied the trash. Clean install with a new download of the patch. It still reads version 1.0. I also can't find any trace of the patch using spotlight or even just looking on the hard drive.
Any ideas? Is it actually there but the version number doesn't change? I looked on macologist.com and followed some instructions there (that's where I got the idea to delete the preferences) but still no go. I would love some help feeding my addiction.
- self edit - finally got it to work. I had to repeat everything with a new download of the patch.
