I don't know how many of you actually watched the Sept. 12th keynote but I watched it and noticed that when he was talking about iTV he made a lot of refrences to "you big, flat-panel TV". This is probably meaningless but I wonder if it was a little hint that they are working on a "big, flat-panel TV".

Probably not. I'll just leave it at that. Apple won't dive into that market as it's pretty saturated.

It was a sales pitch - he was making people "feel" the experience he was trying to describe.

Others seem to think so (http://www.pbs.org/cringely/pulpit/pulpit20060922.html)

Yeah, I noticed that too. I kind of laughed because you could tell he wanted to say "flat TV" but accidently said "Big TV" so he kept having to squeeze the big flat Tv in there. Personally I don't think theyre working on one. I would like it though.

Well the 30" cinema display could count as a flat LCD TV if you hooked it up for those purposes. I don't think Apple has a place in the TV market.

Thanks for the link Koodauw, it was an interesting article.

This may be an apples to oranges comparison but Apple dove into the Intel/PC market which is pretty saturated and they're doing all right. I don't see any reason for them not to even try it. I'm sure there's enough people who would buy an Apple TV to make it profitable. In the worst case they don't make enough profit to continue them but I think a fair amount of people would buy them.
